Reading the sitemap

The sitemap is structured in three bands: editorial chapters, supporting pages and machine-readable routes. The editorial chapters are the long-form pages that carry the desk's reading. The supporting pages are the short reference pages that frame the editorial position. The machine-readable routes are the routes that crawlers and downstream readers consume.

The desk publishes a dated note at the foot of this sitemap whenever a route is added, removed or renamed.
